Three stages, and nothing is committed until the last one.
Applying does not oblige you to accept what is offered, and it does not put a mark on your credit file.
-
I
The business is entered
What the company is, how it is constituted, the length of its trading and the sum sought. Each entry persists as it is made, so a file left half open is still open in the morning.
-
II
Three months of statements are furnished
Statements for the trading account, exported from the bank as PDFs. This is the entry that carries the weight - a quarter of receipts describes an operating business more accurately than any set of answers can.

Terms are set out in figures
Where the file can be funded, four figures reach you before any agreement is put in front of you. Where it cannot, that is said plainly, with the reason attached rather than withheld.
The ordinary reasons a trading business needs capital.
Payroll that lands early
Wages due on Friday and the invoices settling the week after. The gap between money leaving and money arriving is the most common reason a file is opened here.
Stock ahead of a season
Laying in goods before the season arrives, on terms that hold this week and not in six.
Plant and equipment
Replacing the machine the whole operation runs through, without standing it down for as long as it takes to save for a new one.
Sized against the record
Nothing is selected from a list of products. The figure is derived from banked receipts, which is what keeps the recovery in proportion to the way the operation actually earns.
What this firm does not do.
- Nobody is invoiced for an assessment, and learning where the business stands carries no charge.
- No credit file is marked in order to reach an answer on an entry.
- Banking credentials are never requested. What reaches us is a PDF you exported yourself.
- No figure is named that moves once the agreement is drawn against it.
Four things that decide how quickly this goes.
Deposits carry more than scores
A thin file, or a difficult stretch two years ago, does not end the conversation. Steady money through the account is what weighs most.
Statements are the long pole
Nothing delays an entry as reliably as an absent statement. Where the quarter is exported before the file is opened, it generally closes without a second sitting.
One person from start to finish
The person who opens an entry is the person who telephones about it. Nothing is routed onward, and no question already answered is put again.
Your details stay yours
Entries are encrypted on the wire and in storage. They serve this assessment and the funding arranged from it. They serve nothing else, and they are not treated as a saleable asset.
Put most often, before an entry is opened.
How long does the application take?
Five minutes or so at the keyboard. Entries persist the moment they are made, so the tab can be shut and the same link reopened later. The one thing worth exporting first is the quarter of statements.
Will applying affect my credit?
It does not. A band is recorded for background and nothing is searched to produce an answer. Should an offer go forward, a funder may search before execution, and notice of that reaches you first.
There is already an advance outstanding. Does that stop us?
It does not. The entry is recorded so the assessment can allow for it. Standing alone, it weighs against nothing.
How new can the business be?
Three months of trading deposits is the practical floor, because that is what the assessment is drawn from. Longer is easier, but a business under a year old is worth entering.
Ask the one question first, if you would rather.
One point usually needs settling before an owner is willing to enter anything. Settling it first is sensible, and it is not charged for.
